The Kiamichi River begins in eastern Le Flore County near the Arkansas border and flows about 165 miles in a south-southwest direction to the Red River on the Texas border.
Generally the Kiamichi river is a flat, somewhat slow river, but potential for Class I-II whitewater run at high water. Class II-III rapids on the extreme upper end near its headwaters.
Put-in Take-out Points
Access is very limited, as are commercial services, making this river more appropriate for the true adventure seeker. Be sure to bring everything you need when you visit the Kiamichi River.
